Congratulations

Congratulations to 'Rocky' and Gaynor on their forthcoming marriage, November 2008.

Good to hear that someone's finally going to try and settle you down.

So what's happening over there?, must be silly season!! Been here for a few short months, and everyone's getting married, again...

Unfortunately that's now 2 major drinking sessions that will be missed!! But, to Homer & Eve, and Rocky & Gaynor, we look forward to seeing you soon.

This obviously applies to you all, and for the 'best' flights to Winnipeg / Canada try:

Oliver and Daniel seem to be coming through their illness, just in time for our trip to the States on Saturday. We plan to head directly south from Brandon, and have a late breakfast in Rugby, North Dakota. This has been designated the geographical centre of North America, so hopefully we should get a few nice pictures. From here, we hope to head west to Minot for lunch, and maybe a little shopping, before heading back to have our residency visas stamped.

The basement remodelling is moving along quite nicely. Have already erected an 8' section of the main partitioning wall, and begun to 'take down' the two rooms that are being replaced. Had a few fireworks yesterday as I was taking off the wall heater. Unscrewing the retaining brackets, sparks began to fly as the heater mounting and backplate had become live!!! Still not too sure how this one was wired, but obviously installed by the Canadian arm of 'Bodgitt & Scarper Ltd.'. Have also discovered that power outlets are wired from light switches. Make of that what you will. Something I have never done, and shall soon be re-wiring them on their own circuits!!

Cheers to 'Flaybag' for the mention on his blog. Not missing anything, just get a little nostalgic, (and we won't mention Czechoslovakia, Wembley 96 v Leeds, a train trip to Blackburn, I could go on). Check the link to the right, 'The Black Country Villan'.
Also, please have a quick peek at the link to Apple.ca. Check out the new MacBook Air laptop. Totally amazing!!

So, the FA have decided NOT to hold a minute's silence for the Munich aircrash victims, when England play Switzerland on 6th February. 50th anniversary commemorations are to be limited to the local derby, Man Utd v Man City, on the 10th Feb. Well, I personally think that the FA and the Premier League are adding fuel to an already out-of-control fire of hate towards Man Utd. By allowing them to break league and FA rules, this will only be seen as favouritism to an already (all too) powerful organisation. Que sera, sera.
Villa had a nice win against Reading, let's just hope we can continue with some kind of form on Monday, when we face Liverpool at Anfield. Good to see Laursen has signed for another 2.5 years, but if Mellberg leaves, and Cahill leaves, where's the defensive cover??? MO'N, a personal note... sort it out :-)

More important celebrations are being planned from February 15th onwards... stayed tuned for more information!

God Save The Queen

God Bless Canada
