HAPPY NEW YEAR

Well, the festivities are well and truly over, and we would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year.

Today marks the 150th anniversary of Ottawa being chosen as Canada's capital city. In 1857, Queen Victoria finally decided to bestow this great honour on the city.

We usually take down our Christmas decorations today, with many prostests from the boys. George is beginning to realise that time 'exists', and with his usual thirst for knowledge, asks some quite remarkable questions. (eg how do you know we have moved around the sun?, why do we move around the sun?, is today the 32nd of December?, why not? etc....) A lot of patience and some fruit may have answered his questions, but most probably not!!
Oliver's speech and vocabulary have improved tremendously. He is forming complete sentences, and his questions have more meaning than just what and why!!
Daniel seems to be over his illness. I think we assumed all too readily that his teething was the root cause (excuse the pun!), but there seems to be some kind 'bug' doing the rounds. His second tooth is quite visible, and we expect it to break through any time.

Even though I am enjoying life looking after the boys, there is plenty of work around the house to be done. We have plans to re-model the main room in the basement, the shingles on the garage and house need replacing, a certain amount of re-wiring is to be done, general post winter maintenance. Then there's the painting and decorating, new flooring throughout, installation of the downstairs bathroom... So quite a bit to get my teeth into.

During the last few weeks of the year, me and CJ have been making firm plans about getting a couple of businesses off the ground. We have decided on three based here, with one possibly, further a-field. I'm not in a position to divulge any details, until we have performed a couple of 'viabillity' tests, and visited the nice people at our bank. Hopefully, when you decide to visit us, you shall see, and enjoy the fruits of our labour...

Tottenham at home. This was one of those fixtures, in days of yore!, that I looked forward to. No chance of losing, and usually 2 points (remember them?, before 3 points-a-win...) at Fortress Villa Park. But 4 points so far over the Christmas period, all away from home is not too bad... just our home form is not what it should be. With both teams playing well, this should be a good game. As long as it's a good game with a Villa win!!

CJ has 3 days off from tomorrow, so we'll probably 'do' something with the boys, rather than just go shopping in Brandon.

God Save The Queen

God Bless Canada
